Painting in oils, Grant tries to capture a sense of reality which invites the viewer to experience something perhaps surreal or whimsical, to question and to wonder.
"I try to engage the viewer at a gut level before their thoughts distract them from the moment and involve them in a process of needing to find categories and meaning."
Grant is self-taught besides for benefitting from time spent painting with artist, Ian Hamlin. Grant's father, a cartoonist, was also a great influence on his work.
Grant is inspired by many things - music, colour and light; the sense that there is far more to life than meets the eye and by a perception of uniqueness in things.
Grant has originals and high quality prints of his work for sale.
