Jono Smith

Illustration and design
Jono provides illustrations in a variety of styles for a wide range of uses, from children's/educational books through to concept work and commercial art for editorial and advertising.

These days he works predominantly in the digital medium, however is always willing to pick up a paintbrush or pencil and do it old school.

He also covers general graphic design- logos, posters, stationery, business cards etc.

Training
After High school Jono completed a year diploma of Art & Creativity from The Learning Connection in Island Bay Wellington.

He then moved onto four years at Massey University gaining a Bachelor of Design(Hons) in 2006.

Inspiration
"I take inspiration from other artists working in the film and gaming industry, architecture, comics and other cool stuff."

"I enjoy capturing facial features and emotions to change a image into one that can tell a story, or adding small details that give a subtle hint of humor to a picture."

Jono has just completed a painting for his sister of her dogs in the bush valley where she loves taking them for walks.
