Rhino Music Day 2012

Kapiti is sending a message to the South African government to do more to protect their Rhino from increased poaching. Rhino horn is worth $65,000 a kilogram, and this led to over 500 poaching-related Rhino deaths in 2011. There is a petition being presented to the South African government in February, and Rhino Music Day is to create awareness around that event. Do something in your 'hood.

Future Framing and Gallery

Future Framing is a father and son partnership that has recently opened their doors at the Lindale Centre, SH1, just north of Paraparaumu.

Julian, the father, qualified in 1983 with a BA (Hons) Design, and a Certificate of Education, specialising in woodwork. He has been framing in New Zealand since the family arrived from England in 2004.

Ashley, the son in the partnership, is currently in his fourth year at Massey University studying for a degree in Photography. Ashley specialises in landscape and architectural photography. He works mainly with medium and large format film. Using film means that he can get exceptionally large quality prints with a much greater tonal range than that of any digital camera. The Gallery is currently displaying a number of his pieces.

Future Framing also features other local photographer's & sculptor's work, with exhibitions rolling over at regular intervals.
