Stevan Stojanovic

Stevan was born in Wellington in 1966, son of New Zealand artist, Dragan Stojanovic.

Stevan studied in Rome, Italy at the Academy of Fine Arts for a year before transferring his studies to the prestigious Academy of The Medal at the Italian State Mint.

Here he spent another two years specialising in sculpting and engraving coins and medallions and in life drawing and sculpture.

During his studies, he was awarded commissions from the State Mint for four medals and commemorative plaques and exhibited in various exhibitions including the World Expo Seville and the World Expo Kyoto.

Stevan then worked in London for two years carving medallions and in central Rome again as a manufacturing jeweller.

Here he spent the next 14 years working with well known American designer and goldsmith David Loepp in his bottega/workshop, crafting exquisite one-off handmade pieces and selling them to the world's rich and famous.

He also participated in various exhibitions during this time both in Italy and in New Zealand including “Going Solo 17” at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington.

Now Stevan lives in Otaki, with partner Federica Gatti and their children.  The couple  have recently opened a gallery and workshop in Te Horo, Bell' Arte, where they continue to realize art works in metal, stone, ceramic and paint.

"while I principally work as a designer jeweler and carver, we also do quite a lot of other disciplines such as murals, paintings, sculptures and art restorations of both paintings and 3D works", explains Stevan.

Stevan has pieces for sale and accepts private commissions.
