Troy Hunt

Troy Hunt was born in Waitara, Taranaki.  He has loved music ever since he can remember and has written songs and music for the past 25 years.

Settled now on the Kapiti Coast, Troy has found a nurturing and supportive environment.

Currently he is playing in four bands in the Wellington region, namely: I' N' IROAM, RENOWN ROAD REVIEW, CURBSIDE CABARET and DAY ABOVE.

The Troy Hunt sound can be described as an eclectic mix of rock, roots and blues.  It has an earthiness to it that makes one feel at ease, and rhythms that require moving one's bodyparts to.

His lyrics are genuine and soulful, coming from a depth of thought and social concsience.

You will find Troy playing at many community events, fundraisers and festivals.   Recently, he has played at the Organic River Festival in Levin (2009) and Parihaka Peace Festival (2007 & 2008).  Troy also regularly gets together with friends and jams or plays gigs at parties.

His CD, "The Otaki Gorge Sessions - Live at Gina's", was recorded from one of these gigs in 2008.

Troy was one of the featured musicians at the Creative Coast launch party on Waitangi Day in Raumati South.
